Literature Text

Thor opened the door leading into ___'s chambers. Peering around, she saw many different pastels all over, from the bed coverings to the dresses on dolls. Stepping inside, she felt the room was small. Maybe somehow she remembered this room? She moved around the room to feel the different objects and open old drawers that had once been full of trinkets.

"I will leave you be to look around," Thor stated simply, "And return in a little while." He turned and headed out of sight, leaving the door ajar behind him. ___ searched around the room for anything of interest for a few minutes longer, but curiosity of the world beyond the door got the better of her soon enough and she walked out.

The sound of ___'s covered feet making contact with the cool stone floor sounded quietly as she wound her way through the maze of halls. She wasn't sure where she was going, but figured exploring on her own might help familiarize her with the grounds.

Twists and turns met her. Unexpected dead-ends and long staircases. ___ travelled all around the inner workings of the great building, finding a room here or there that she'd seen on her tour of the castle.

Just as she was turning another corner, a small grouping of people came into view from the other hallway. "Ah!" ___ let out a small gasp as she just barely missed stepping straight into the man leading the procession. Looking up, (e/c) eyes met unamused green ones. ___ stepped back immediately.

The prince in front of her took the opportunity to step around her. But before leaving the situation, he couldn't help but drop an acknowledgement of her, a snide, "Veslemøy."

___ turned to send a confused look his way, but he was already walking away, the guards in tow.

Unable to think of anything better, she answered with a matter-of-factly, "Loki."

The man's pace slowed, and he sent a look back at her. "Remember me?" he asked, voice filled with sarcasm, confident for all the world she didn't. ___ took a moment to look over his facial features. A bit of her confused expression remained on her own.

"A little," she said. Loki didn't seem to be one to react much when he didn't want to, but by the subtle narrowing of his eyes and tilting of his head, ___ guessed that he hadn't expected such an answer.

One of the guards prodded Loki to continue walking, though, and the exchange was cut short. Without another word (though not without a look of annoyance, bordering on an eye roll), he pivoted on his heel and continued his previous course down the hall. ___ turned around as well, figuring it'd be best to do the same.

Veslemøy. The sound of that name coming from his mouth rung through ___'s mind. Where  was that from?

Continuing down the hall in deep thought, colorful forest images surfaced in a rush.

        'Loki? What are you doing?'

'What are you talking about? We are in the middle of a game,'

'Why were you in a tree?'

'I, to-'

'Were you spying on me?'

'...just to make sure you didn't get yourself hurt, Veslemøy,'

'I can look out for myself! You should worry about yourself, too!'

...there was something familiar about that man.
OH SHOOT!
